HABS/HAER Recordation

Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) and Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) are the historical architectural and engineering documentation programs of the National Park Service. The combined goal of the programs is to provide comprehensive documentation of buildings, sites, structures, and objects significant in American history and the growth and development of the built environment. RGA provides HABS/HAER services, including the production of measured drawings, photographs, and written historic context and descriptions.  HABS/HAER documentation of historic resources is often required as part of the regulatory compliance process when historic properties are to be demolished or substantially altered as a result of projects involving state or federal funds, permits, licenses, or approvals. RGA’s HABS/HAER projects are undertaken in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Architectural and Engineering Documentation.
